Volgograd embankment from a bird's eye view
Recently I was able to personally look at Volgograd embankment from a bird's eye view. Perception, I can tell you right away, is completely different. The difference is simply striking! And, despite the fact that the snow had just melted in Volgograd, and the colors of nature were not very diverse, the views of the embankment and the surrounding environs were simply amazing.
Sometimes they say: «There is nothing more to add!» So, this is about our embankment.
As you know, the embankment in Volgograd acquired its modern look immediately after the war, when Stalingrad (since 1961 Volgograd), began to rebuild, turning it into the best city on earth. The city was under construction, the embankment was also under construction.

Until today, the Volgograd embankment is one of the most visited places among citizens and guests of the city. In terms of popularity, only the main height of Russia — Mamayev Kurgan, can be compared with it. But if more and more people go to Mamayev Kurgan to honor the memory of soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War, then to the embankment they go for a walk, relax, breathe in the fresh Volga air.
By the way, there is also a handsome river station — the largest river station on the Volga.
Now, when navigation on the Volga is not yet open, this is empty. But with the arrival of spring, the station literally comes to life. Snow-white passenger ships moving in transit along the Volga begin to moor to its quay wall.

I can not help but mention the floodplain of the Tsaritsa River, which, through the efforts of the city authorities, within a few years has turned from an empty territory into a picturesque oasis. The floodplain space has become a logical continuation of the Volgograd embankment and is now perceived as a single whole both territorially and architecturally.

And, of course, the Volzhskiye Parusa residential complex, which has recently become a hallmark of the city in the truest sense of the word. The first thing that ship passengers see when they approach the city center from the south is the Volzhskiy Sails.

There is also a monument «Fire boat» Extinguisher « dedicated to the feat of the rivermen of the Volga military flotilla in the Great Patriotic War.
