Im actually against sharing my plans with others. Several times I already burned myself on this business, and after that I vowed not to devote anyone else to my personal life.
Especially that there is a wonderful saying:
If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.
And here just recently an interesting incident happened to me, which made me look at this problem in a different way. But first things first.
It so happened that a year ago, several of my colleagues and I fell victim to layoffs. It had nothing to do with the pandemic, it was just that the employer decided. For some time after the reduction, we still communicated, so to speak, shared our life-being, and then each went his own way. And only occasionally in a group created some time ago, someone talked about their achievements.
principles, remained firmly silent and to the question: «Well, how are you?», — joked with standard phrases.
By that time, I was already doing something that I liked and making plans to expand the scope of my activity.
I told my friend about my plans. This is how she reacted to it
And all of a sudden, a call from my former colleague rang on my phone.
She started from afar. I kept asking how I was doing, what I was doing and what plans for the future?
Quite unexpectedly, as they say, I got carried away. I told her everything about myself, and in great detail.
Recovering myself, I suddenly fell silent, but it was too late. Everything that I so carefully concealed has become the property of the general public, so to speak. But this, as it turned out later, is not the most important thing. The main thing is the reaction of a colleague to my revelations.
“I don’t tell anyone about my plans,” she began.
— But Ill tell you, you also told me about yourself.
Then came a meaningful story, in no way inferior to mine. Frankness for frankness. A colleague even promised to help me in what she does, if I, of course, show interest in this matter.
On that we said goodbye. Now think about whether to talk about your plans or not? If I hadnt told her about myself, I wouldnt have learned anything about her either. However, everyone decides for himself.
