Mamaev Kurgan in Volgograd is a place known not only in Russia, but also far beyond it outside. Memorial, on the Mamayev Kurgan, created by a group of Soviet sculptors and architects headed by E.V. Vuchetich was conceived in order to perpetuate the feat of a Soviet soldier in the Battle of Stalingrad 1942 — 1943.
But as the years pass, generations change, historical events, especially those associated with the Great Patriotic War for our people, have recently become more and more often falsified and so-called «rethinking» by our enemies.
And whatever they say there, no matter how they throw mud at us, I firmly want to say that our Victory cannot be taken away from us! Unless, of course, we don't voluntarily surrender it …
And for this we ourselves, first of all, must not distort, even if not intentionally, the history and facts associated with that war.
For many of us, the T-34 tank is a symbol of the victory of Soviet weapons over fascism. And, despite several modifications of this tank that took part in the war, after 75 years from the day of the Great Victory, we stopped distinguishing between them. In fact, it is not so important which modification, 76th or 85th? For us, its just a T-34 tank!
Maybe, of course, there is nothing wrong with that, if not for one «but». Starting to pass off wishful thinking, we falsify history itself in the eyes of the younger generation.
I am in favor of replacing the T-34-85 tank on Mamayev Kurgan with a more suitable one. Let me explain why
We are talking about the T-34-85 tank, which is installed on the upper terrace, at the very entrance to the Mamayev Kurgan.
For reference. This machine was delivered to Mamayev Kurgan in spring 2020.
Ill make a reservation right away, I have nothing against this tank, but what does this tank have to do with the Battle of Stalingrad? The memorial is named «To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad.» that the tanks of this modification did not take part in the battle on the Volga. They entered service in the Soviet Army on January 23, 1944, i.e. a year later.
T-34-76 tanks took part in the Battle of Stalingrad, including those made at the Stalingrad Tractor Plant.

So, why shouldnt this T-34-76 tank be stationed on the Mamayev Kurgan? And the one that stands now at a height of 102.0 will be given a place in the parades, which it certainly deserves.
Out of 17 the towers of the T-34-76 tank, which have live holes from shells, in Stalingrad was recreated < b> «Stalingrad Defense Line» in the form of a memorial complex.
