I finally decided to get out to the museum of I.V. Stalin , which is located on the upper terrace at the entrance to the Mamayev Kurgan. Despite the fact that I visit the Mamayev Kurgan quite often, a visit to the museum of I.V. Stalin somehow everything was postponed for later. And then there was time, and judging by the empty parking lot, there shouldnt have been many people there.
The price of the question by todays standards turned out to be just ridiculous — 180 rubles.
The guide was very surprised when she found out that I am a local, Volgograd. I even felt a little ashamed.

It seemed that I was the only one from a city with a million people who hadn’t been here before.
Seeing my embarrassment, she said:

Having politely listened to a short lecture on the history of Volgograd and the structure of the museum, I went to meet with Stalin.
The museum turned out to be tiny, well, it does not match the personality of the leader of nations. It consisted of three rooms. A large, if not the main part of the exposition consisted of newspaper clippings and photographs in one way or another connected with the activities of I.V. Stalin.
The first room was completely devoted to the activities of I.V. Stalin in Tsaritsyn (from 1925 Stalingrad). He, as you know, led the defense of the city during the Civil War.

The second room is dedicated to Stalingrad (since 1961 Volgograd), its pre-war and post-war life. In particular, from the living exhibits, orders and medals were exhibited in one way or another connected with the name of Stalin.

And the third, last room is I.V. Stalin with a full-length wax figure of the leader. Now it became clear to me what meeting with Stalin the guide was talking about at the very beginning.

Do not say that wax # Stalin was very much like a living, but he definitely added reality to the cabinet. I instantly imagined how the «Stalinists», sitting on chairs, hold their meetings here.
